*Sigh*

Another session of available time, gone. Spent the entire time trying to make sense of the whole RSS thing. I have absolutely NO idea how any of those sites in the SPL2.0 exercise supposedly work, despite visiting HELP and other links. I have NO idea how they are supposed to help me in any way, unless of course I want to spend my life visiting those sites to visit all of the links they have, which would take forever. Which I don't have. I have NO idea how to connect anything from any of those sites to my own. I have NO idea why I am still messing with this!

Guess I'll move on to the next exercise, this one is a dead horse. At the rate I'm going, I figure I'll finish this some time around, oh, 2009. And I really hope at some point I start enjoying this. Mostly it's just been a whole lot of, "WOW YOU CAN DO SO MUCH INCREDIBLE STUFF AND WOW YOU CAN DO SO MUCH INCREDIBLE STUFF AND WOW MAYBE YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO SO MUCH INCREDIBLE STUFF!!!", without much given (that I can find) on HOW I CAN DO SUCH INCREDIBLE STUFF. Somehow I am just missing the key, unable to wrap my brain around the clear direction that I can only assume is there somewhere. Must be a Neptune thing. Maybe Neptune is sending rays directly into my computer here at work??

Oddly enough, I ran a website (on my own time) for 6 months last year. I had a great deal of fun, and found all kinds of neat things to do with it, and everyone loved it. So why can I not even handle these supposedly "simple" exercises? Don't know. Guess this is not the direction the Tech Gods are wanting me to go.

RSS? Huh?

Whew. Gonna hafta spend a little more time on that. Someday. Got through part of it, tho'. Let's see if I can get a link to my (barely 10 feeds listed!) Blogline!

Luney Moonie's Clips & Connects

Did it work???

My creation

My creation, originally uploaded by luneymoonie.

Ok. Another day, another week, and I think I've figured out how to do even something basic like edit a layout for blogging a picture! Good grief, how is it I can manage to customize the entire blog background plus the type, but can't manage a simple photo??? Maybe the Moon was forming hard aspects to my Mercury last Monday...

Anyway, after poking around a bit, I took my photo and used the fun stuff at fd's Flickr Toys. This is what I got. I've also geo-tagged my photo, but I think at this point I really need to investigate RSS feeds. I found a really nifty site this past weekend while looking up something for my daughter, and saw that it had the RSS buttons on it.

Must learn more!!!!

Time out

I'm struggling, here. I'm finding Flickr to be extremely difficult to navigate, and given the very short time allowed and the absolute NOT ON YOUR OWN TIME limit I think I need to give up for now. A Time Out.

After a great deal of poking around, I finally caught on to how to actually DO something with my photo...but having not liked the layout of my first attempt to blog via Flickr I find myself completely stymied on how to change it. So either I re-blog, using the format I didn't like, or I just don't blog. Because I've got work to do, and I'm outta time. For the entire week. I have no clue when I'll get to RSS feeds...

I've decided that technology is a lot more fun when you aren't trying to pit it against unrealistic limits. Perhaps if the Mercury-induced crises at home subside, I'll find time to explore some of these concepts for use in my personal blog, and can then bring that already-mastered knowledge to this blog with it's assignments. That is probably the only way I can actually get it done.

Back to Basics

It's been awhile--Mercury, that little trickster, has been going backwards and causing all manner of havoc in my life! But now the Moon is in Mercury's sign, Gemini, so it's time to try a few new tricks of my own.

Speaking of mischief, here is my own little mischief maker. But he's also good for a snuggle, and so we forgive him...

Tasking

Did anyone see the Moon this morning before sunrise? Beautful, just a slender crescent rising in Libra due east of here. My kitchen window faces due east, it was a lovely way to start the morning, watching the Moon rise while chased by the Sun. Later today will bring an official new Moon in Libra. New Moons are a good time for new beginnings...bring on Flickr!!

But first we must finish our tasks from before. Yesterday the Moon was in Virgo, the sign of tasks and daily life. So what was left outstanding?

I finally got my paws on those elusive attachments. Heh. With Pluto in Virgo my 3rd house natally, you gotta understand how obsessive I can be about details. For anyone else so afflicted and also unable to access them through that video, here you go:

Learning Contract
--and--
7 1/2 Habits

Helpful hint: these are just ordinary .doc files, so if they don't open try nabbing them by right clicking and doing the old "Save As" trick.

As for the other task(s), I was supposed to comment on the 7 habits.

Toughest habit: I absolutely NEVER know my end point. With a mostly mutable chart, life is all about the process, not the result. Hm, maybe that explains the mess in my house?

Easiest habit: creating a learning toolbox. Everything to me is a way to figure something out, a source of inspiration, a something to ponder. In fact, I'll even make up mysteries where none exist just for the fun of solving them. Agatha Christie, watch out!

Run, baby, run

Up and running. Finally. Simply was not able to find time last week, so tried to do two weeks in one day. Was not an effective technique.

Note to self: establish better timeline.

Could not open attachments on introductory video--spent WAY too much of my limited time on trying to get it to work. Am guessing has something to do with the format used by video, and/or the settings on browser at work. Am going to find a way around this. Moon today is in Leo, so not surprising there was some drama in the offering. But Leo is a FIXED sign, I'm disinclined to give up!

Blogging was much easier. In fact, I'm going to set one up from home, for personal use. Have been meaning to, even checked out books on it (gasp!! You mean the LIBRARY has books?? hee hee) but returned them all unread. Feeling quite stubborn about all this now, however.

Next week Moon will be in Libra for awhile. Hopefully that will smooth things out a bit...
