Another session of available time, gone. Spent the entire time trying to make sense of the whole RSS thing. I have absolutely NO idea how any of those sites in the SPL2.0 exercise supposedly work, despite visiting HELP and other links. I have NO idea how they are supposed to help me in any way, unless of course I want to spend my life visiting those sites to visit all of the links they have, which would take forever. Which I don't have. I have NO idea how to connect anything from any of those sites to my own. I have NO idea why I am still messing with this!
Guess I'll move on to the next exercise, this one is a dead horse. At the rate I'm going, I figure I'll finish this some time around, oh, 2009. And I really hope at some point I start enjoying this. Mostly it's just been a whole lot of, "WOW YOU CAN DO SO MUCH INCREDIBLE STUFF AND WOW YOU CAN DO SO MUCH INCREDIBLE STUFF AND WOW MAYBE YOU'LL ACTUALLY DO SO MUCH INCREDIBLE STUFF!!!", without much given (that I can find) on HOW I CAN DO SUCH INCREDIBLE STUFF. Somehow I am just missing the key, unable to wrap my brain around the clear direction that I can only assume is there somewhere. Must be a Neptune thing. Maybe Neptune is sending rays directly into my computer here at work??
Oddly enough, I ran a website (on my own time) for 6 months last year. I had a great deal of fun, and found all kinds of neat things to do with it, and everyone loved it. So why can I not even handle these supposedly "simple" exercises? Don't know. Guess this is not the direction the Tech Gods are wanting me to go.

I can sympathize. We only have a little bit of time to complete these projects. We don't really have the time to figure out how the sites work AND have time to play with them. As I understand it, we are just supposed to get a brief idea of each site. If we were given simple instructions for a simple task we could try out the site and blog about it. Then, if we wanted to know more we could check it out on our own time. We are NOT stupid, just short on time.
